Earlier tonight, Hillary Clinton missed a chance to prove us all wrong. She could have defied expectations and proven herself to be a uniting force in our country. But she didn’t.
At the end of a gross display of ego and hubris, Clinton asked Americans to go to HillaryClinton.com and tell her what to do next. Well I did and so should you. Here is what I said:
Senator Clinton,
Tonight you had the opportunity to celebrate the fact that our country has just nominated the first black candidate from a major political party. Unfortunately you chose not to stand with the future president of the United States and engaged in a vain attempt to steal the spotlight on an historic day.
You owe Americans an apology for your ego driven display in New York this evening. For the good of the country, for the good of your political future and legacy, it is time for you to step aside and move on. We all have.
Sincerely,
Ryan Lewis

Tonight America moved forward towards the kind of bright future that we all deserve. Tonight I am proud to be an American after 8 years of heartbreak and an empty wallet. Tonight I pulled my cracked check card from that empty wallet and donated another $10 to the Obama campaign. Consider doing the same HERE.

Obama trounced Hillary tonight in Wisconsin - with pundit’s referring to the win as a “landslide” and an “Obamassacre**.” Looks like it is time for the condescending madame Clinton to step aside and let this whole “Hope” thing play out.
The fact that a politician came along when I (and most folks I know) had all but given up hope on the future of our nation (and world… though the two are hardly unrelated) and inspired me (us) to believe that perhaps mankind isn’t out of the running just yet is amazing. I mean it is science fiction amazing that anyone could come along and drum up enough support that he could inspire even the most jaded of voters.
As the wife says, why can’t Hillary just step aside and let this thing happen. Does she not realize that there is a true movement towards progress in America and it is far bigger than her personal push for power? No, chances are she is too isolated and self involved to even understand the magnitude of what we are witnessing. Maybe someone could throw a bucket of water on the former first lady and shake her out of her paranoid power trip for long enough that she could see Obama for what he is (the future) and get the fuck out the way.
So yeah, Hillary should drop out so that we can get on with the main event… Obama v McCain AKA: Olde Timey Hero McOlderson v www.Captain-Holy-Shit-Maybe-We-Aren’t-Fucked.com/barackobama.shtml

* and by tonight I mean the 10m minutes I spent “writing” this post
** Ok, no pundits said Obamassacre, it’s one of those ridiculous words I talked about making up in the title of this post (and the above asterisked footnote). I mean surely it is no more ridonk than “Mittmentum.” Meta? And how!

This completely unscientific little web poll on CNN.com made me smile:

If you live in a state that is holding primaries today (Maryland, Virgina, D.C.) get out and vote, if your state has a primary coming up soon spread the word!
If you believe that America has seen better days and is in dire need of help why not donate a little scratch to the campaign? No matter how much or little you donate (I try to give $5-$10 a week) it helps build momentum for the one candidate who can bring us all together for a brighter tomorrow. Do your part to bring an FDR/JFK Democrat back to the White House!

So tomorrow is the big day… the massive clusterfuck of primarypalooza! Everyone remember that your vote actually matters in this primary! If you are registered to vote and your state is holding a primary tomorrow (hint: Georgia is), you owe it to yourself and the world of tomorrow to take a moment out of your busy, busy day and cast a vote. Almost all of the states holding primaries tomorrow are active contests that your vote could help decide.
While we are on the subject, let me just ask that you think about giving Obama a try. Good lord, I can’t imagine (m)any of our readers would be voting for the-old-white-man-club and I kind of figure most of you are too smart to fall for Hillary and her pandering to the military industrial complex, bad history on Iraq and all around smugness. John Edwards really was my first choice but thankfully Obama has picked up the fight against poverty and looks like our best hope for changing the direction of the country and improving our image in the world.
VOTE!

I wasn’t able to watch the NH primary results live last night as I was picking Mat up from the ATL airport but needless to say we are all a little bummed about the smug Clinton squeaker of a win. Obama and Edwards are far from out though, this is going to be one hell of a fight!

The entire right wing has made major life decisions based on opposing Hillary in 2008. They have started film, animation and web attack projects which have consumed their time for years all gearing up to take on her supposedly inevitable candidacy. All of these projects focus their attack on Hillary while more or less ignoring any other candidates or general issues.
A smart opponent must understand all weaknesses and strengths of ones enemies and oneself in order to predict the best movements and countermovements needed to succeed. By making a tactical decision to shut Hillary out of the running for the nomination, Democrats have the power to deny Republicans the target they have spent years obsessing over and planning against. It just makes sense.
It is time for Dems to get their/our heads out of their/our asses and start playing this game to win - Hillary as the nominee shouldn’t even be a consideration at this point. It’s what our current President calls strategery people, ever heard of it?

I just got done watching the ABC Democratic New Hampshire debate - I would have watched the Republican portion as well but I forgot when it started so I was spared the inevitable anger and sadness that would have resulted.
Edwards made the smart choice of aligning with Obama to put Clinton on the ropes over the issues of change and hope. Saying that: “I didn’t hear these kinds of attacks from Senator Clinton when she was ahead, every time he speaks out for change, every time I fight for change, the forces of status quo are going to attack — every single time.”
Clinton was clearly rattled and attempted to recover by essentially saying “don’t get your hopes up - change is too hard to be realistic” (not an actual quote, that is my paraphrase) - think Malibu Stacy’s “Math is Hard.”
While it is true that change is hard, I find it insulting that Hillary would insinuate that we shouldn’t bother trying. Lowering expectations is not a solution for anything - unless you are a jaded insider with decades of time in the hands of corporate interests and lobbyists like Clinton. Is it just me or is the Hillary campaign actually trying to make me rethink my love for Bill’s years?
Obama and Edwards are echoing great leaders of hope and change from the ’60s (MLK, JFK, RFK) - let’s just hope they don’t get shot.
