It’s true! I’m currently preparing to move 500 miles south (in t-minus 21 hours) so I don’t have time for a long, in-depth entry. For example, I won’t have the time until at least a couple days from now to write about the piece Boredoms played in Brooklyn on Saturday with 77 drummers! And honestly, at that point I’ll have lost interest, and so will you. So let me just give you an embedded link to the New York Times article about it, as well as a video that in no way captures what it must have been like to see it in person.
But as I was saying, Steve Albini, producer to the stars and rock music’s answer to Andy Rooney, has been answering questions about his career and the music industry in general in a thread on a… poker forum? It’s true:
Ask a music scene micro celebrity
The thread goes on for pages and pages, and I’ve only been able to read a little of it, but it seems like he’s being pretty candid without getting baited into talking much shit or naming many names. Just a warning: if you get sucked into this, it will be a BIG waste of time.
